The Perks of Being Married

So I'm almost a month into marriage, and I have to say that I have never been happier. God did so good bring Grant to me, and we are genuinely happy together. A match made in heaven for sure.
I love being married. Wanna know why? Well, here's a list :)

  • I never have to be alone.
  • He takes care of me when I don't feel good
  • He makes dinner when I work late
  • We get to wake up and kiss every single morning (even though he's asleep 99% of the time when I get up, I still get to kiss him :)
  • I get to say "Our House" now. We're "The Quimbys"
  • He spoils me.
  • I get to spoil him
  • He eats the left overs that I don't want to eat
  • We get to spend days off together. All DAY LONG
  • I get to have a sleep over with my best friend every night
  • He helps me take care of the house
  • I finally have someone to kill the spiders we find...although he usually screams like a girl when he does it :)
  • We get to go on walks with our dogs almost every night
  • I have a movie date any night I want
  • We get to save money on our water bill ;)
  • I can write out a to-do list, and leave it on the table, and (sometimes) it gets done before I even get home!
  • I love that we get to go everywhere together now (instead of meeting because we drive from 2 different places)
  • We get to kiss and....stuff... any time we want
  • I have a built in heated blanket in bed now whenever I need it.  (Grant is a furnace!!)
  • We never have to go to family dinners or weddings or anything else alone anymore.
  • We're finally MARRIED!
  • I get to experiment with food, and if it turns out badly...there's still someone that will eat it!
  • I can finally reach stuff on the top shelves of the cabinets
  • He is around to hug me when I have a bad day at work
  • He meets me in the driveway with a smile and a kiss, just because.
  • It's ok if I fall asleep on his lap on the couch at night because he doesn't have to worry about waking me up when he leaves because HE NEVER LEAVES.
I think that's my favorite thing about being married. I was so SO sick of saying goodbye to him. And now I basically never have to.
I just love being married.
I'm so happy. He's so handsome too.

I just love love love being married. And having Grant around. And being with my HUSBAND.

I. Am. Happy. Content. Comfortable. In Love.

I know, we are disgustingly in love.

Wedded Bliss

Finally got our wedding pictures back!! Here are some of my favorites.

So many smiles and kissy pictures!! :)

The ones above and below are probably 2 of my all time favorite pictures.

May 17, 2014 was the best day ever.

One cool thing I figured out is that one of my favorite pictures of the two of us was taken last summer, and just out of curiosity I went back to see what date that picture was taken. And as it turns out, it was pretty much exactly a year before the day we got married. That coincidence just made me happy.

We love each other.

This Looks Fishy.

First I want to start by saying that I'm very sorry that California Chrome lost the Belmont, but I knew he would. Its very sad though. Husband and I watched it at Chili's while we ate all our awesome food.

Grant's sandwich was about 4 inches tall!

After dinner we went to Petco to see about getting more fish. They checked our aquarium water, and we got the go-ahead to get more fish!!! It's so exciting. So after looking at them all about 10 times, and ooohhhing and ahhing over the saltwater tanks (filled with all the fish that look like Finding Nemo fish!) , we settled on 7 new fish!

We floated them all in the tank, and then Grant went to work getting them into the tank!

We got 3 Swordtails and one Platy. They are beautiful but SO FAST so I can't get a good clear picture of them yet.

The second one we got is called a Neon Blue Dwarf Gourami. He always looks mad...

Grant then picked out a Clown Loach. He's very antisocial :) And his name is Rodney..
I absolutely couldn't get a good picture of him so I borrowed the second one from the internet, but that's what he looks like.

Lastly I want to introduce my favorite one. I got a Dragon Tail Betta. He is the prettiest fish EVER. Name to come!! If you have any good suggestions let me know!

I just love him. He's so pretty. Totally worth being the most expensive fish we bought tonight :)
Hopefully they all do alright!! And of course we still have the original 5 Danios.

Pretty Fish!!!!!

The Pilgrims

Grant and I have embarked on a new adventure...a 55 gallon adventure.

As a kid, Grant had a huge fish tank, and he loved it. So now that we are settled in a house for a while, we decided to drag it out of storage and get it fired back up.

After hooking things up and getting it cleaned and filled, it finally came time to buy the first explorers. I spoke to the fish guys at the fish store, and I settled on 5 special little guys, the pilgrims if you will. They have been chosen to make sure our tank is okay and supposedly they are hardy little dudes so hopefully they will be ok :)

They are little Zebra Danio Fish. Names to come. So far so good. It takes a couple weeks before we can add more fish, and eventually we can get prettier ones, but these guys are the guinea pigs of the tank to make sure things are where they need to be to support some more sensitive fishys.

**Sorry for the awful pictures. You would not believe how hard it is to take pictures of tiny fish swimming around in water with a camera phone :)**
But I'm so excited!!
The Sunken ship is my favorite part of the tank :)

Update: 1 already died...back to the pet store to get a replacement. :( This is gonna be a long journey. Prayers for these little dudes are appreciated.
:) Follow the journey on the blog! Updates to come!

Riders UP!

Spent the evening at Indiana Grand Racing and Casino last night with the family. Got some good pictures of the racehorses. And lost some money... :)

And then of course my lovely parents!

Lastly, a really washed out, blinding sun picture of US :)

We had a great time and the horses were beautiful, as always. It was a good way to spend a Saturday night with the family!

I'll throw that last one in because my mom's face is adorable, and you can all see my hair cut  pretty good :)

Hebrews 12:1 "... let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us."
